Fakebook is a song about unrequited love – specifically with a jazz musician. The title is a play on the jazz term for a lead sheet, a “fakebook”, which has a dual meaning in this context for a relationship that is inauthentic. The song also includes chords with sevenths, in typical jazz tune style.
